Things to do with teenagers in Newcastle
Newcastle with a teenager is surf first. The patrolled beaches are among the best on the east coast, the surf schools take teenagers in group lessons, and the ocean baths are the backup when the surf is big.
North of the city the sand dunes at Stockton run quad-bike and sandboarding tours that teens rate as the best day of the trip, and Port Stephens has dolphins and more surf. In town there is a ninja gym, mini golf, a climbing wall, a cinema and laser tag; for a wet day the museum is better than it sounds.
The free list is the beaches, the Bathers Way walk, the skate parks and Glenrock's mountain-bike trails. Each listing shows the minimum age and the price from.
