RAAF aviation museum at Williamtown near Newcastle with jets, cockpits and VR simulators (7+); child $12, under 5 free, family $49.

Fighter World is the RAAF Williamtown Aviation Heritage Centre at 49 Medowie Road, Williamtown, about 20 minutes' drive north of Newcastle. Aircraft are displayed in two hangars including an F/A-18A Hornet and F-111C, and the Mirage and Macchi jet trainer cockpits are open for visitors to look inside. An observation deck looks over the airfield, and there is a café. As of October 2026, entry is $21 for adults, $12 for children aged 5 to 17, free for under 5s, and $49 for a family of two adults and their dependent children under 18. It is open 10am to 4pm every day except Christmas Day. Two motion F/A-18 VR flight simulators, for ages 7 and up, start at $35 for 15 minutes; they run every day in NSW public school holidays and on weekends at other times, and bookings are essential. The hangars and café are on one level.
