Fingal Beach

Last updated October 2026

Port Stephens Council describes Fingal Beach as a protected beach that is ideal for the family to swim and surf. Professional lifeguards patrol every day from September until the end of April, 9am-4pm and sometimes longer in the summer peak, and volunteer lifesavers from Fingal Beach Surf Life Saving Club operate on weekends. The safest place to swim is between the red and yellow flags. Council lists toilets, showers, a children's playground, outdoor seating and picnic areas, BBQs in the foreshore reserve, car parking, accessible beach matting and a beach wheelchair, plus the surf club's Longboat Cafe and Saltwater Restaurant. Dogs are prohibited on the beach (an off-leash area is in the reserve). Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): Friendly Grocer (convenience store, about 150 m).
