One Mile Beach

Last updated October 2026

One Mile Beach sits next to Tomaree National Park between Boat Harbour and Nelson Bay, with access from Hannah Parade. Port Stephens Council says it is patrolled all year round by professional lifeguards from 9am-4pm, sometimes longer in the summer peak, from a lifeguard facility on the beach. The safest place to swim is between the red and yellow flags. Council lists a kiosk/cafe, outdoor seating and shady picnic areas, BBQ and picnic areas, toilets, showers and ample car parking; the beach is about a minute's walk over the dunes, and there is a 150 m walk between the car park, toilets/showers and kiosk and the beach. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): Swell Kiosk Cafe (cafe, about 80 m).
