Redhead Beach is one of Lake Macquarie's four patrolled beaches and is home to Redhead Surf Life Saving Club. Lake Macquarie City Council says it is famous for its headland cliff, historic shark tower and freshwater creeks. Council lifeguards patrol every year from the September/October school holidays through to April, Monday to Sunday 9am-5pm, and Surf Life Saving Club volunteers also patrol (their times depend on the club and holiday periods). Council lists toilets including an accessible toilet, indoor and outdoor showers, a kiosk, a playground, picnic tables, parking and accessible parking, an accessible family room, and beach wheelchairs during the patrol season (booked through the surf club). Nearby (OpenStreetMap): Cargo Espresso Bar (cafe, about 150 m).
