Patrolled year-round family beach beside Nobbys breakwall with barbecues, picnic area, kiosk and toilets.
Visit Newcastle describes Nobbys as a favoured swimming beach for family groups and people learning to surf. On the other side of the beach is a public recreation area with barbecues, a picnic area, toilets, parking and a kiosk. Families can walk along the Nobbys breakwall below Nobbys Lighthouse and watch ships enter the harbour. City of Newcastle lifeguards patrol Nobbys all year: 9am to 5.30pm until 1 November 2026, then 7am to 5.30pm (Sundays from 9am) until 21 March 2027.
