Things to do with teenagers in Hobart
Hobart with a teenager is an outdoors trip with a world-class museum in the middle. The mountain has real walks and a mountain-bike trail network with shuttles, the river has kayak tours that paddle under the bridge, and the Tasman Peninsula is a day of sea cliffs, a boat ride and the penal settlement.
Indoors there is Mona, which teenagers rate higher than their parents expect, a trampoline park, karting, a climbing gym and laser tag. The free list is short but good: the summit, the botanical gardens, Salamanca, the beaches at Kingston and Seven Mile and the skate parks.
Winter brings snow on the mountain and short days, so plan one outdoor thing a day. Each listing shows the minimum age and the price from.
