Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club
Last updated October 2026
Volunteer surf life saving club on Osborne Esplanade at Kingston Beach, south of Hobart. Its Nippers program introduces children aged 5 to 13 to surf lifesaving, held on Sunday mornings from 9.30am to 12.00 between November and March in the middle of the beach. Seahorses (5-6 year olds) run for one hour from 9.45am with wading and water-confidence activities; Nippers (7-13) train in sprints, relays, beach flags, swimming, board paddling and rescue techniques, and complete Surf Life Saving Australia's surf education program with beach and surf skills, surf theory and first aid. Children must already be able to swim; the club does not teach swimming. To join, families email the club for a welcome pack; registrations for 2026/27 open in September 2026.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
