Salamanca Market

Last updated October 2026

Hobart's Saturday street market on Salamanca Place with around 300 stalls, street food and lawns, 8:30am to 3pm, rain or shine.

Salamanca Market is Hobart's Saturday street market, run along the full length of Salamanca Place beside the historic waterfront, from the top of Davey Street to the silos end. Around 300 stalls sell food, fresh produce, art, crafts, gemstones and Tasmanian-made goods, and families can grab breakfast or lunch from the street food stalls and relax on the lawns. The organisers suggest allowing at least three hours, arriving early before the busiest time of 11am to 1pm. It runs every Saturday from 8:30am to 3pm, rain or shine, except when Saturday falls on Christmas Day or Anzac Day, and only closes in extreme weather. Entry prices are not published on its website. Lost children can be reported to the Market Supervisor on 0419 482 675, and an ambulance crew is on site. All toilets are accessible, with baby-change facilities in Salamanca Square and the Salamanca Arts Centre, and free manual wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Information Booth. Dogs are not allowed inside the market, but the RSPCA runs puppy parking. Details as of October 2026.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
