Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club

Last updated October 2026

Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club, formed in 1955, is a volunteer club that patrols Point Leo Surf Beach on Western Port Bay, between Hastings and Flinders. Its Junior Surf Lifesaving Program (Nippers) is for children aged 6 to 13 and runs up to 10 morning sessions from late December to mid January, covering beach and water safety, survival skills, beach running, flags, board paddling, swimming and basic first aid. It is not a learn-to-swim program, and every Nipper does a swim assessment before water activities. A Junior Surf Sports Program adds coached sessions from October to March, and a Starfish Nippers program caters for children and young adults with a disability. New Nippers join through a registration of interest (waiting list), and at least one parent must also join the club.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
