Point Nepean National Park

Last updated October 2026

At the western tip of the Mornington Peninsula, this 560-hectare park combines coastal walks and bike paths with history: the Quarantine Station (50 heritage-listed buildings, selected ones open 9am-4:30pm daily) and Fort Nepean's tunnels and gun emplacements, with views of ships passing through The Rip. The Quarantine Station is 2.3 km from the Entrance Station Picnic Area car park by shared path; a hop-on hop-off shuttle runs to Fort Nepean (adult $12, child 4-16 $8, under 4 free). The Quarantine Station has four electric barbecues and a coffee caravan (daily September-April), and free beach and standard wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Information Centre. Vehicles may enter 6am-6pm (6am-8pm in daylight saving). Dogs and pets are prohibited.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
