Rainforest Gallery, Yarra Ranges National Park
Last updated October 2026
A short, kid-friendly walk in cool temperate rainforest just above Warburton, about a 10-minute drive up Donna Buang Road. Parks Victoria lists it among its easy beginner hikes: 350 m, about 30 minutes as a loop. A 40-metre platform 15 metres above the forest floor is fully accessible from the car park and looks into towering Mountain Ash and Myrtle Beech trees, some over 400 years old; a set of about 100 stairs leads along a 20-minute elevated walkway beside Cement Creek. Look and listen for lyrebirds on misty days. Visit midweek for a better chance of a car park; the drive from Melbourne's CBD takes about 1.5 hours.
