Point Lonsdale Back Beach
Last updated October 2026
Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club patrols on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays from the last weekend in November to Easter Monday, with paid lifeguards midweek and on Saturday mornings from 27 December to 25 January. The Borough of Queenscliffe warns that it requires respect and caution, as strong permanent rips can catch out unsuspecting swimmers, so swim only between the red and yellow flags. Volunteer lifesavers patrol every Saturday afternoon, Sunday and public holiday (except Christmas Day) from the last weekend in November until Easter Monday, with extra patrols by Life Saving Victoria lifeguards from 27 December to 25 January. Lifesavers are only on duty when the flags are displayed. The council lists public toilets, gravel parking and seating. Dogs are not allowed off-leash.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
