Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club
Last updated October 2026
Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club began a program for junior surf lifesavers in 1967. Its Nipper program is for children aged 7 to 12 as at 30 September and is based at Santa Casa Beach, at the end of Henry Street in Queenscliff. Nippers learn surf awareness and safety and take part in board paddling, surfing, swimming, running, wading and games. The 2026/27 program runs on set mornings (9.30am to 11.30am) from 29 December 2026 to the Nipper Championships on 9 January 2027. There is no separate sign-up form: children join through club membership plus a Nipper Levy, and must complete a Junior Preliminary Swim Evaluation. Each age group is capped at 60 children, and a parent membership must accompany each Nipper. A Starfish Nippers program welcomes children and young adults aged 7 to 18 with special needs.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
