Go Ride A Wave runs beginner surf lessons from its shop at 143B Great Ocean Road, Anglesea, opposite Anglesea Main Beach. Lessons are held in waist-deep water and include all equipment. As of October 2026, a 2-hour introductory group lesson costs $94 and a three-lesson surf course $220. For children, school holiday kids-only sessions for ages 5 to 14 cost $79 for a 90-minute lesson with a soft board, leg rope and full wetsuit. SurfGroms, for ages 5 to 12, teaches surfing plus ocean awareness and beach safety over four 1.5-hour lessons for $280 per child, either as a 4-day intensive in the school holidays or on weekends over four weeks.
