Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club has run Nippers since 1967. The program runs on Sunday mornings at Noosa Heads Main Beach for children aged 5 to 13, building confidence and surf awareness on the way to becoming surf lifesavers. Every child must pass a preliminary pool swim each year before taking part. The club says Nippers is entirely volunteer run and not a drop-off program: parents are expected to be on the beach every Sunday and volunteering is a condition of membership. The 2026/27 family membership fee is listed as $310 for one nipper, $360 for two and $420 for three or more. As of October 2026, nipper registrations for 2026/27 were closed.
