Noosa Main Beach

Families' Pick 2026 · Sunshine Coast: picked by the Funtivities team as a standout for families in Sunshine Coast.

Last updated October 2026

Free patrolled north-facing beach at Noosa Heads, sheltered for swimming, with lifeguards, toilets, showers and parking.

Noosa Main Beach at Noosa Heads is a north-facing beach that Noosa Council describes as a sheltered spot for swimming with gentle waves, compared with the more powerful surf on the eastern beaches. It is one of Noosa's patrolled beaches: the council contracts Surf Life Saving Queensland to provide lifeguards and asks swimmers to stay in patrolled areas. Surf Life Saving's Beachsafe page lists daily patrols, which on the days shown run from about 7am or 7:30am to 5pm, and rates the beach 5 out of 10 (moderately hazardous). Beachsafe lists a formal parking area, toilets including a disabled toilet, showers and a picnic area. Patrol times and conditions can change, so check the Beachsafe app before you go. The beach is free to visit, as of October 2026.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 17 October 2026.
