Council-funded lifeguards patrol Yaroomba Beach near Birrahl Park during the school holidays between September and May only. There is no lifeguard tower; lifeguards work from a vehicle during patrol times. Council map data lists council lifeguards in the summer school holidays. Tracks and boardwalks lead north over the Point Arkwright headland towards Coolum. Swim only between the red and yellow flags when the patrol is on, and check beach conditions before swimming.
