Robbie Sherwell's XL Surfing Academy runs surf lessons at Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba, with the meeting place confirmed when you book depending on conditions. In the school holidays its Surfing Minions program is for 4 to 6 year olds: 1-hour sessions over 2, 3 or 5 days with a 4 to 1 ratio, focused on confidence, swimming ability, surfing skills and ocean knowledge. Its school holiday programs (3 or 5 days, 1.5 hours a day, 8am to 9:30am) suit children, teens and adults, grouped by skill with 5 or 6 students per coach, and a family package for 4 is offered. A surfing and Smoothstar development program with video analysis is for intermediate surfers aged 8 and up. Surfboard, rash shirt and wetsuit if needed are provided.
