Mooloolaba Spit Beach

Last updated October 2026

Council-funded lifeguards patrol Mooloolaba Spit all year round, and Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club volunteers patrol the main beach on weekends and public holidays from 7am to 5pm (6pm in peak season) between September and May. Council says the beach is protected from southerly winds, is a popular spot for families with children, is excellent for swimming and is generally calmer than other locations. It is also a popular spot for takeaway fish and chips. Swim between the red and yellow flags and check beach conditions before swimming. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): The Coffee Corner (cafe, about 20 m), Bayview Restaurant & Bar (restaurant, about 20 m), The Boathouse Restaurant (restaurant, about 30 m) and Regent Coffee Mooloolaba (cafe, about 360 m), plus 6 more places to eat.
