Dromana Bay Life Saving Club

Last updated October 2026

Volunteer life saving club founded in 1997, patrolling the Dromana foreshore from Anthony's Nose to the Safety Beach Yacht Club. Its Lifesaving Nippers Program hosts around 150 Nippers aged 5 to 13 each year. The 2027 season runs for six Saturdays, 2 January to 6 February, from 9am to 11:30am. Under 6 to Under 11 rotate through boards, swimming, team games, flags, sprints and education; Under 12 and Under 13 do an advanced program with board skills, fitness and board and tube rescues. Nippers is not a learn-to-swim program. Families register an expression of interest (2026/27 closes 30 September 2026); at least one parent must join the club and each family takes a volunteer role. Beyond membership, the only cost is a club cap.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
