Chelsea Longbeach Surf Life Saving Club

Volunteer-run, not-for-profit surf life saving club on The Strand at Chelsea, part of the community since 1917. Its Nippers program introduces children to surf lifesaving through beach activities, water skills and teamwork. It runs from November to March on Saturday afternoons: U5 to U9 from 2 to 3pm, U10 to U14 and the Starfish program from 3 to 4pm. A Family Membership is required for Nippers, with no extra program fee; a rashie vest and cap must be bought. Season 2026/27 starts with pool preliminary assessments on 14 November 2026 at Toby Haenan Swim Centre. Older juniors (U8 to U14) can train and compete in surf sports.
