Wattamolla Lagoon
Last updated October 2026
Wattamolla picnic area in the eastern precinct of Royal National Park is a family spot for swimming, snorkelling and picnics. NPWS says kids will love the calm waters of the lagoon for snorkelling, swimming and liloing, and says the lagoon suits small children. There is no lifeguard service at Wattamolla and the ocean beach is unpatrolled, so supervise children closely. Jumping from the waterfall into the lagoon is prohibited. Facilities are flush toilets, picnic tables, free gas/electric barbecues and a car park that often fills before midday on hot weekends. Bring drinking water. Park entry fees apply ($12 per vehicle per day).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
