Umina Beach

Last updated October 2026

Umina Beach is a long patrolled sandy beach that NSW Beachwatch calls one of the Central Coast's most popular beaches for families, for swimming, surfing and paddleboarding, with a wheelchair-accessible surf zone and facilities. Council lifeguards are on duty 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and Surf Life Saving volunteers patrol on weekends and public holidays during the patrol season, which runs from Saturday 26 September 2026 until Sunday 25 April 2027. Swim between the red and yellow flags and supervise children at all times. Beach matting is installed here each patrol season and free beach wheelchairs can be booked. NSW Beachwatch lists BBQs, a cafe or kiosk, parking, a playground or park, showers and toilets here. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): Margarita Daze (restaurant, about 310 m) and The Cove at Umina Beach (takeaway, about 350 m).
