The council says anyone swimming at South Curl Curl should stay between the flags, as there are several rips at any one time, and rates the swimming conditions as cautioned; it is good for board riding and boogie boards. South Curl Curl Rockpool, a 50 metre pool with a toddlers area, is at the southern end. Council lifeguards patrol from the last weekend of September until the last weekend of April, every day 9am-5pm and longer in the summer peak. Parking is free with a council permit or pay-and-display, with designated disabled spaces, and buses run nearby.
