Marrinawi Cove
Last updated October 2026
Marrinawi Cove is a sheltered 700 square metre harbour swimming spot at the northern end of Barangaroo Reserve, run by the NSW Government's Barangaroo precinct. It has a designated swimming enclosure with a shark net anchored to the harbour floor, plus signage, railings and a shower. It is not patrolled by lifeguards but is monitored by Barangaroo Rangers. Entry is from sculpted sandstone, which can have slippery rocks, oysters and algae, so suitable footwear is recommended. Toilets and a shower are in the former Sewerage Pump House near the Towns Place entrance. Water quality is tested through Beachwatch. Dogs may swim but must be leashed while walking in the area. Within a short walk are Elements Bar and Grill Walsh Bay (restaurant, about 160 m), Brix & Beans (about 210 m), Zupano (about 230 m) and Ventuno (restaurant, about 270 m), plus several more restaurants and takeaways.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
