Mona Vale Beach runs for 1 km south of the rock platform that divides it from Basin Beach, a 300 m semi-circular beach in the lee of Mona Vale Head. Mona Vale Rockpool is at the northern end. Council lifeguards patrol from the last weekend of September until the last weekend of April, every day 9am-5pm and longer in the summer peak. The council notes the southern end (the dog off-leash trial area) is not patrolled; swim between the flags. Facilities include toilets and showers at the surf club and the north end, an accessible toilet, picnic shelters, a viewing platform, and electric BBQs and a playground in Apex Park. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): Bright Side (cafe, about 30 m) and Ruby's at the beach (cafe, about 120 m).
