Maroubra Beach
Last updated October 2026
Maroubra Beach is a kilometre-long surf beach patrolled all year by Randwick City lifeguards (7am to 7pm in summer daylight saving, 7am to 5pm otherwise), with volunteer lifesavers on weekends and school holidays during daylight saving months. Randwick Council warns that the beach can be very dangerous: swim only between the flags, during patrol hours and never alone, and weaker swimmers should consider more sheltered beaches nearby. Facilities include a large kids playground, a skate park, a free outdoor gym, free BBQs, outdoor showers, a large changeroom and toilet, and a cafe/kiosk at the centre of the beach. There is free parking around the beach. Dogs, alcohol and glass bottles are not permitted on the beach. Within a short walk are Pavilion Café (about 170 m), barmilano Maroubra Beach (restaurant, about 330 m) and Cozy Thai House Restaurant (restaurant, about 350 m).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
