Council-funded lifeguards patrol Maroochydore Beach all year, and Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club volunteers patrol on weekends and public holidays from 7am to about 5pm (6pm over Christmas and the January holidays) between the September school holidays and the May long weekend. There are beach showers and public toilets near the surf club, and Pierce Park on Melrose Parade has picnic facilities, a playground and public toilets. Council describes it as a popular open stretch of beach with cafes, restaurants, takeaway outlets, parks and playgrounds nearby. Swim between the red and yellow flags and check beach conditions before swimming.
