Kewarra Beach

Last updated October 2026

Kewarra Beach is a Cairns Regional Council beach at Kewarra Street. The council says it has a stinger net enclosure and is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers between 9am and 5pm during the marine stinger season (November to May). At the northern end there is a children's playground, a picnic shelter, bench seats and a free electric barbecue, and the council lists it as wheelchair accessible. Stinger season generally runs November to May and the nets are not 100 percent stinger proof; this is crocodile country, so swim only inside the net when lifesavers are on duty. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap): The Toasted Goat (cafe, about 340 m).
