Holloways Beach
Last updated October 2026
Holloways Beach is a Cairns Regional Council beach at Casuarina Street. The council says it has a stinger net enclosure and is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers between 9am and 5pm during the marine stinger season (November to May). The foreshore has a children's playground, an undercover picnic area, free electric barbecues and a council toilet block in Holloways Beach Esplanade Park, and the council lists it as wheelchair accessible. Stinger season generally runs November to May and the nets are not 100 percent stinger proof; this is crocodile country, so swim only inside the net when lifesavers are on duty.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
