Guided cocoa plantation tour with chocolate tasting in Shannonvale near Port Douglas, Wed-Sat; children 5-15 $35, bookings essential.

The Australian Chocolate Farm is a family-run cocoa plantation at 78 Mountainview Drive, Shannonvale, about 15 minutes from Port Douglas or Mossman. Its guided tour includes the owners' story, a walk of about 100 metres on grass through the plantation to learn how cocoa is grown, a demonstration of how cocoa beans become chocolate, the opening of a cocoa pod, and a tasting of four of the farm's chocolates. As of October 2026, tours run at 9:30am and 1pm, Wednesday to Saturday. Bookings are essential through the website's enquiry form, and payment is made on arrival. Prices are $35 for ages 5 to 15, $70 per adult and $190 for two adults and two children; children aged 0 to 4 are free (tastings for them cost $15). The café and chocolate shop open 9am to 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday. The premises are disability friendly and pets are not permitted.
