Hectic Valley Farm is a family-run poultry and livestock farm at 50 Springmount Road, Mutchilba, on the Atherton Tablelands near Mareeba. Visitors can hand-feed and pat more than 300 animals, including camels, goats, horses, buffalo, chickens, ducks, sheep, calves and miniature cows. The Feed & Wander Farm Pass (self-guided, about 1.5 hours, Wednesday to Sunday) includes a bucket of feed for the animal feeding circuit, from $13. The Farmer's VIP Animal Tour (guided, 1 hour, weekends) includes bottle-feeding baby goats, holding chicks and visiting the incubator room, from $20. The Spring Babies Tour costs $28. As of October 2026 the farm is open Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30am to 12pm, and bookings are required. Every visitor needs a ticket, under 2s are free, and animal feed is included. Bring a hat and wear enclosed shoes. Camping is also available.
