Tanks Arts Centre is a Cairns Regional Council arts venue in the Cairns Botanic Gardens precinct on Collins Avenue, Edge Hill, next to Centenary Lakes and the Mount Whitfield arrow walking tracks. It occupies three World War II naval oil storage tanks decommissioned in 1987 and has run live music, visual arts, market days, workshops and community events since 1995. Tank 4 Gallery is open seven days a week. Tanks Markets run on the last Sunday of the month from April to November (not August), 8am to 1pm, with free entry, food vans, live music and a Tiny Traders Corner for stallholders aged 7 to 17; the October 2026 market is on Sunday 25 October. The workshops page says the program includes children's activities and circus lessons, but as of October 2026 no children's workshop is listed. Live shows are ticketed through Ticketlink and prices vary by event.
