Rusty's Markets is a fruit, vegetable and farmers' market at 57-89 Grafton Street in the Cairns CBD, between Grafton and Sheridan Streets. It opens three days a week: Friday and Saturday 5am to 4pm and Sunday 5am to 3pm. The market has more than 180 stalls selling regionally grown tropical fruit, vegetables and flowers, delicatessen produce including bread, dairy and seafood, international food and drink stalls, and bric-a-brac and specialty goods such as clothing, jewellery, coffee and chocolate. It began in 1975 with half a dozen stalls and is named after the late Emrys 'Rusty' Rees; it is now owned by Gilligan's Backpacker Hotel & Resort, and local musicians perform regularly.
