Surf Sessions is a surf school running learn-to-surf and surfing development programs at Ocean Grove and 13th Beach, operating from a trailer beside Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club. Its Little Rippers junior program, started over 17 years ago, builds ocean awareness, confidence and surfing ability for kids aged 6 to 16, and leads on to local boardriders clubs. Term 4 programs start Saturday 7 November (8:45am and 10:00am) for 6 weeks, plus a smaller Thursday after-school program. Lessons cover safety in the surf, standing up, turning and surfing etiquette, with surfboard, wetsuit, legrope and sunscreen provided. Kids programs require bookings.
