Barwon Heads 13th Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Barwon Heads 13th Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a volunteer club that has patrolled 13th Beach every season since 1961. Its Nippers program welcomes families and children regardless of prior beach experience, and runs age groups from Under 6 (children aged 5 at 30 September) to Under 13. Aims include surf and inland waterway awareness, confidence and skills in beach activities, SunSmart habits and making new friends. Nippers is not a learn-to-swim program, and every child must complete a swim evaluation before water activities. Families join through a Family Membership, and all adults in the family need a Working With Children Check linked to the club. Program dates for 2026/27 had not yet been published when checked, and places in some age groups may be limited.
