Streets Beach
Last updated October 2026
Streets Beach in South Bank Parklands is a free, man-made swimming lagoon with white-sand beaches, palm trees, pebbled creeks and shady shallows, overlooking the Brisbane River and the CBD. Streets Beach is patrolled by professional lifeguards seven days a week all year round, with hours that change through the year. South Bank has showers in Stanley Street Plaza, toilets at the Piazza, Central Cafes, Stanley Street Plaza, Little Stanley Street and River Quay, two parents' rooms with change tables, and free BBQ areas in the parklands. The Boat Pool is next door. Within a short walk are Ben & Jerry's (about 70 m), Happy Pops (about 70 m), EzyMart (about 250 m) and El Camino (about 100 m), plus several other places to eat.
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
