Sylvan Beach
Last updated October 2026
Sylvan Beach lines the Bellara foreshore on the Pumicestone Passage side of Bribie Island, along Sylvan Beach Esplanade from the Bribie Island Bridge to Sunset Park. Council recommends the beach for a swim in the calm waters of the passage, reached from several spots along the esplanade. It is not patrolled: City of Moreton Bay's only patrolled beaches are Suttons Beach and Woorim Beach. The esplanade has public toilets, electric barbecues, picnic tables, two playgrounds (including Bribie Island Lions Park), shade trees, cafes and restaurants near the boat ramp, and a wide path along its length. Dogs can be on-leash in the Bellara dog on-leash beach area. Council notes upgrades are planned under the Bellara Foreshore Renewal. Within a short walk are Cazzabella's Cafe (about 400 m) and Bribie Island Hotel (about 100 m).
Facts checked against the venue's own website on 22 October 2026.
