Noosa Botanic Gardens are eight hectares of native and exotic plants on the shore of Lake Macdonald, a short drive from Cooroy, run by Noosa Council. Families will find children's play facilities, large lawns with winding paths to picnic areas, a lily pond, a fern house, a rainforest area, a Zen garden, an open-air bush chapel and a Greek-style amphitheatre, plus toilets and drinking water. There is plenty of wildlife. The gardens are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and entry is free. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Council is preparing a master plan for future improvements.
