Nobby Beach lies at the foot of the rocky hill known as North Nobby, and the City of Gold Coast describes the suburb as having a family-friendly atmosphere. Lifeguards patrol Tower 23 (Lavarack Road, near Nobby's Beach Surf Life Saving Club) between 8am and 5pm every day all year round, and Tower 24 (Seashell Avenue) between 8am and 5pm every day between September and April and during school holidays. Swim between the red and yellow flags. There is limited parking at the surf club, plus on-street parking and parking in the Nobby Beach local centre. The beach has a dog prohibited area. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap) are BSKT (about 160 m), Nobby's Shack 4218 (about 380 m), Foster's Bakery, a bakery (about 380 m) and JuJu Mermaid Beach, a restaurant (about 380 m), plus several other places to eat.
