Kirra Beach is a City of Gold Coast beach on Marine Parade, Kirra, just north of Kirra Point and Coolangatta Beach. The council lists one lifeguard patrol at Tower 4, near Kirra Surf Life Saving Club, patrolled from 8am to 5pm every day all year round; swim between the red and yellow flags, and note patrols can close in dangerous conditions. The surrounding parklands have toilets, barbecues, tables, shade structures and beach showers, and the Oceanway path runs beside the beach for walking, cycling and skateboarding. Kirra Point is a well-known surf break for experienced surfers, with smaller waves further north for intermediate board riders. There are car parks at the Kirra and North Kirra surf clubs plus street parking, and Translink buses run along the Gold Coast Highway and Marine Parade. Dogs are not allowed within 200 metres of flagged swimming areas.
