Paradise Point swimming enclosure

Last updated October 2026

The Paradise Point swimming enclosure is a large netted enclosure on the foreshore just north of the Ephraim Island bridge, near the corner of Falkinder Avenue and the Esplanade, next to the Paradise Point shops. The adjacent park has playgrounds and toilets, and there is a shopping strip across the road. The City of Gold Coast says its swimming enclosures are popular with children and people who prefer calm natural swimming water, but they are not patrolled by lifeguards: supervise children at all times, keep clear of the nets, and take care as depth varies with the tide. Dogs and fishing are not permitted in the enclosure. Avoid swimming for 3 days after heavy rain. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap) are Burleigh Baker, a bakery (about 200 m), Cafe 7, a restaurant (about 170 m) and Bibi's, a restaurant (about 170 m), plus several other places to eat.
