Nobby's Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Surf life saving club that has patrolled Nobby's Beach since 1954. Its Nippers program runs on Saturday mornings (not Sundays), starting at 8am; the first Nipper day of the 2026/27 season is Saturday 3 October 2026. Juniors are 5 (Under 6) to 13 (Under 14), with age set at 30 September. The program includes surf swimming, surf safety, board paddling, board rescue, beach activities and basic first aid, with an emphasis on participation and fun. Nippers must complete a pool proficiency before starting, either at the club's sign-on days at Merrimac High School Pool or with their own swim teacher. A pink hi-vis rashie and nipper cap are compulsory. The club is a registered Play On! voucher provider. Families are encouraged to help with the BBQ, beach set-up and age managing.
