Surf life saving club at North Burleigh beach running Nippers for children aged 5 to under 13 (Under 6 to Under 14 age groups, age determined as of 30 September). Nippers runs every Sunday from October to March, starting at 8:15am at the northern end of the club; mornings finish at about 11am including the barbecue. The 2026/27 season runs from Sunday 11 October 2026 to Sunday 7 March 2027, with a holiday break from 13 December 2026 to 31 January 2027. Activities include beach sprints, relays, flag races, wading, swimming and board paddling, plus basic CPR, first aid and understanding rips and waves. A swimming and floating skills assessment is required, a parent or guardian of a new nipper must also join, and a pink rashie and nipper cap are compulsory. Play On! vouchers are accepted.
