Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club

Last updated October 2026

Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club was established in 1962 and is the most southern club on the Queensland coastline, on one of the Gold Coast's few north-facing beaches. Its Nippers junior program introduces children aged 5 to 13 (Under 6 to Under 14) to surf lifesaving, every Sunday 8:30am-10:30am from mid October to mid March, followed by a family sausage sizzle. Accredited age managers teach surf safety, surfing, board paddling, board rescue, beach activities, basic resuscitation and first aid, and children earn progressive awards. Nippers must complete a pool proficiency first. Extra board and water skills sessions run on Wednesdays from 4pm for Under 9s and up. Families join online through the SLS Hub; registrations are accepted throughout the season.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
