North Burleigh

North Burleigh is the quieter northern end of the Burleigh beach strip, below the headland locals call Miami Hill, where Mick Shamburg Park has a lookout platform. Lifeguards patrol Tower 19 (Fourth Avenue / The Esplanade) and Tower 20 (near North Burleigh Surf Lifesaving Club) between 8am and 5pm every day all year round. Swim between the red and yellow flags. The parklands have toilets, barbecues, tables, shade structures, playgrounds and beach showers, and the Oceanway runs through them. There is limited parking at the surf club and on-street parking nearby. Dogs are not allowed within 200 metres of the flags. Within a short walk (OpenStreetMap) are Nectar Espresso (about 130 m), Greenhouse Canteen and Bar (about 270 m), Aldi, a supermarket (about 300 m) and Miami Hot Bread, a bakery (about 270 m), plus several other places to eat.
