Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary is on the banks of the Maroochy River at Bli Bli. A 900 metre (one way) elevated boardwalk winds through wetland forest to the river and is an easy stroll suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Kids can spot crabs and waterbirds, follow an interactive audio trail and learn about wetland life at the visitor information centre and trail signs. Council runs school holiday activities and guided walks, listed on Eventbrite. Council suggests visiting in daylight hours in the cooler months when there are fewer mosquitoes. Free to visit.
