Goldsborough Valley camping area, Wooroonooran National Park

Last updated October 2026

Goldsborough Valley camping area is a shady Queensland Parks campground beside the Mulgrave River in Wooroonooran National Park, 46 km south-west of Cairns via Gordonvale and the Gillies Highway (the last 5 km is unsealed but well graded). There are 12 numbered sites for tents and camper trailers beside the car, with flush and composting toilets and fire rings; bring drinking water, firewood and rubbish bags. Families can swim and canoe in the river, but the water is often fast flowing and rocks are slippery, and bullrouts (freshwater stonefish) live there, so wear shoes when wading. The road may close in the wet season (November to April). Book ahead: $7.75 per person or $31 per family per night, children under 5 free.

Facts checked against the venue's own website on 23 October 2026.
