Bondi's fully-fenced playground sits right beside the Bondi Pavilion in the middle of the beach, with BBQ and picnic space alongside it - the easiest base for a family day here. For swimming with younger kids, skip the open beach and head to the North Bondi Children's Pool (also called the Mermaid's Pool), a shallow tidal wading pool tucked next to Wally Weekes Pool at the north end - much calmer than the open surf. North Bondi also has its own larger playground in Biddigal Reserve, with a flying fox and mini rock-climbing walls for older kids.
